VIRTUAL MERIT BADGE CAMP

The Southwest Florida Council will be offering a week-long sessions of online merit badge camp beginning Monday, March 14 for any Scout currently registered to a Scouts BSA unit or Venturing Crew.  This is a unique opportunity for Scouts to earn badges, not readily available at their units, from the comfort of home.  All badges will be taught by qualified, adult instructors approved by the Council Advancement Committee.


After registration, Scouts will receive a Zoom Video Conference meeting code (separate e-mail to be sent Sunday night prior to the start of that session, not on your registration receipt). Please install the free Zoom Video Conference app (www.zoom.us) on your phone, tablet or computer prior to the class. Scouts will also receive a class specific e-mail address to send all homework to.  

Cost: $10.00 for each merit badge (online registration/payment only)

Monday, March 14 - Thursday, March 17
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Communications - OR - Scouting Heritage/American Heritage (Mon - Thurs)
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Citizenship in Society* - OR - American Cultures (Mon - Thurs)
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Emergency Preparedness - OR - Salesmanship (Mon - Thurs)

Saturday, March 19 - Sunday, March 20
9:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Genealogy - OR - Music (SAT & SUN)
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Aviation - OR- Citizenship in Society* (SAT & SUN)

*Citizenship in Society MB is being offered in two different time slots.  You only need to register for ONE of the time slots to earn the merit badge

Registration is simple.  Click on the button below to register for classes
Registration for each class will be limited to 50 students.  

Only those Scouts who register for courses will receive advancement credit.  Links may not be shared.

Note: Most merit badges will have homework or requirements that will need to be completed during or after the virtual camp sessions.

Cancellation Policy
Event Cancellation Policy: Once registration fees have been paid, an individual may become ill or otherwise be unable to attend an event. As the event has already incurred expenses related to the activity such as program supplies, ins., food, patches, etc., event fees are non-refundable & non-transferable. An exception will be made ONLY if a request is received in writing or email (not phone) and submitted to the Southwest Florida Council Office by the individual no less than 72 hours before the date of the event. In most cases, only a partial refund can be made. Refunds for inclement weather will be made only if the event is cancelled. No refunds will be given on the Event Processing Fee.
