Season Two
Scouting for Adventure
WED 8:30A ET | SAT 1:30P, 6:30P ET | SUN 6A ET | ON THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL
July 1 marks the return of Scouting for Adventure, an original television series based on the Boy Scouts of America and its flagship magazine, Boys' Life. This high-adventure show targets young outdoorsmen teaching wilderness skills with an emphasis on safety and team-building.
In the show's second year, Scouting for Adventure promises to continue the tradition of top-notch television production, shot in high-definition that motivates, educates, and inspires both young and young-at-heart. Each action-packed episode features short segments that pertain to all aspects of Scouting, such as merit badges, safety, gear, and knots. Whether it's learning how to tie a square knot at Creighton Island, Ga., or emphasizing the importance of beach conservation (utilizing Leave No Trace) on Catalina Island, Calif., each episode offers practical advice for all past, present, and future Scouts.
All-new episodes in 2009 feature Scouts canoeing in California, horseback riding in Nevada, and snowshoeing in Minnesota. From trail to riverbed, beach to mountaintop, Scouting for Adventure features some of the country's finest young men displaying all the characteristics and qualities that define Scouting.
Don't miss it on the Outdoor Channel, America's leader in outdoor TV.

Update on the H1N1 (Swine Flu) and Camping operations
The most important part of the message that was directed to parents and leaders is below.
- Communicate with your campers, camp leaders, and, if possible, parents (including before they arrive at camp, if practical) to drive home this key message: If you are sick, STAY HOME! Parents, if your child is sick, KEEP 'EM HOME for at least 7 days after symptoms began or 24 hours after symptoms resolve, whichever is longer. Want to know what to do if you have flulike symptoms? See http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/sick.htm.
We wanted to get to you this information in advance of your upcoming Boy Scout Summer Camp trip or Venturing Crew trip. Please take a moment to review the link and attached materials.
Also attached is the CDC Guidance on Day and Residential Camps, it has good information to be shared.
Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to give us a call.
Thank you -

The Boy Scouts of America builds the character and integrity of America's youth. Our Oath teaches a dedication to duty, God, country, others, and self. The Boy Scout Law describes how to live lives of honor by being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. We prepare young Americans to become adults by cultivating in them a sense of community, family, ambition, leadership, and priority so that they will make the world a better place.
Scouting is more than what we do--it's who we are--and what we will be.
We are the Boy Scouts of America.
