QUICK START: Setting Up a “Register Ten Kids/Get One Free Adult” Event Discount
Doubleknot’s Discounts module makes it easy to set up different kinds of discounts for event registration, including discounts based on different registrant types. For example, if your event is configured for registrant types “Adult” and “Child,” you can set up a discount that provides a free adult registration if ten children are registered. To set up this example discount, follow these steps:
- At the event, click Manage Discounts. The Manage Discounts page is displayed.
- In the Active section, select This Discount is Active.
- In the Description field, enter a name for the discount. This description will be displayed to customers on the Shopping Cart page and on the receipt.
- In the Discount Based on Registrant Types section, select Yes. The page will update to show registrant type options.
- To set the conditions to apply for every ten children in a registration, follow these steps in the Discount Applicable section:
- In the Registrants of Type window, select Child.
- In the pop-up menu, select Every.
- In the field, enter 10.
- To set the discount to provide one free adult on qualifying registrations, follow these steps in the Discount section:
- In the Discount Is section, select Overall.
- In the __ free registrant(s) field, enter 1.
- In the Registrant(s) of Type window, select Adult.
- Click Add. The discount will be added to the window at the bottom of the page.
